Familientgarten Wehrenbachhalde
Bereits zum dritten Mal hat eine Gruppe im Familiengarten Wahrenbachhalde mitangepackt. Ziel ist es, eine der Parzellen Schritt für Schritt in ein kleines Naturjuwel zu verwandeln.
Bei diesem Einsatz entstanden kleine Teiche für Unken sowie Strukturen aus Ziegelsteinen. Sie bieten Reptilien, Amphibien, Spinnen und zahlreichen Insekten neue Verstecke und Lebensräume.
A barrier is brought to life
Despite stormy weather, 10 motivated Econis AG employees got to work at Kloster Fahr: planting 300 plants for a biodiversity-promoting hedge! 🌱💪 After completing the work and gaining fascinating insights into ecological relationships, the day concluded with a cozy get-together in the fondue parlor.
Lidl Einsatz am Thurspitz
Das Naturschutzgebiet am Thurspitz lädt zum Verweilen ein. Gleichzeitig brütet dort der seltene Flussregenpfeifer. Besucher dürfen sich deshalb nur auf den offiziellen Wegen bewegen. Der Kiesstrand ist jedoch verlockend und wird immer wieder zum Sonnenbaden genutzt.
Um ein möglichst konfliktfreies Nebeneinander von Erholung und Naturschutz zu ermöglichen, wurden die Zugänge zum Kiesstrand mit einer Benjeshecke versperrt. Die Hecke dient nicht nur als natürliche Abgrenzung, sondern schafft gleichzeitig neuen Lebensraum für Vögel, Kleintiere und Insekten.
Braving the cold for more biodiversity
The sleet is taking its toll on the blackberries. Instead, the forest is getting new residents in the form of native shrubs and trees. With gritted teeth and wet feet, Microsoft employees are braving the weather and creating a natural oasis right next to the runway at Zurich Airport.
AXA helps the bell frog with bricks and piles of branches
26 employees of AXA Switzerland rolled up their sleeves and got to work: on a traditional orchard meadow at Taggenberg, they collected freshly mown hay by hand to promote biodiversity. At Maienried, they built brick structures as wintering sites for the rare bell frog, expanded wood piles as shelters, and cleared vegetation from ponds.
Together for a greener future: The Sika campaign “Tüffenwies Alive”
Four days, 40 employees, 300 plants: The Sika team ecologically enhanced the site along the Limmat River! With a 100-meter-long hedge and a species-rich gravel area, they created new habitats for animals. Tired but proud – a tremendous effort!
