The Bolle di Magadino form one of the most important wetland landscapes in Switzerland. Located at the confluence of the Maggia River and Lake Maggiore, the area is home to an extraordinary diversity of habitats: floodplain forests, old riverbeds, reed beds, meadows, and species-rich hedges provide ideal conditions for countless birds, amphibians, and insects.
But even this seemingly untouched natural paradise requires targeted care. The transitional areas between open land and forest are particularly important for many species. If they are not regularly maintained, they become matted or completely overgrown, thus losing their valuable structural diversity.
In this project, we are dedicated to the maintenance of such hedges and border structures: We remove bushes, cut back old hedge sections, and create new rejuvenation impulses through professional pruning.
A day dedicated to biodiversity – in one of the most beautiful and ecologically valuable landscapes in the southern canton.
