New habitats in the Wehrenbach nature oasis

Zurich

The largest of the ten municipal family garden areas, the Wehrenbach area, is located in Zurich's Witikon district. With its 98 plots, it not only offers a green oasis for urban gardeners but also a valuable refuge for numerous rare and protected animal and plant species. Species such as the yellow-bellied toad, the palmate newt, various wild bees, and snake species find a home here.

Our goal is to expand and specifically promote the habitat of these resident species. A new nature conservation area will be created on a site that is no longer leased and has already been demolished. To this end, we are building a Benjes hedge as a shelter for mammals and birds, as well as reptile dens.

Does that sound exciting? Help create new habitats for these animals. Together we can make a positive contribution and preserve nature for future generations!
