Michael Engeli
Management (ML)
Michi Engeli is the managing director of the Naturnetz association and a member of the management team. After studying biology at the University of Zurich, he quickly found his place in practical, implementation-oriented nature conservation.
In the canton of Graubünden, he gained practical experience in nature and landscape conservation in the Albula Valley, deepening his knowledge of the management and enhancement of ecologically valuable areas. In addition to conceptualizing and planning various species conservation projects, he oversees their practical implementation. His diverse work has ranged from forest management and hedge maintenance, to mowing and neophyte control, to hiking trail rehabilitation and dry-stone wall construction.
Later, he focused on the element of water and gained valuable experience in aquatic ecology and river revitalization at the Department of Environment of the Canton of Aargau.
Since 2018, he has been working at Naturnetz, where he pursues his passion – the preservation of our nature and biodiversity, the protection of sensitive species, the care and enhancement of endangered natural and cultural landscapes, and, last but not least, the sustainable dialogue between humans and nature.
Even in his free time, you can find Michi outdoors in nature – in the mountains with a paraglider or skis, on the road with his racing bike, or underwater while diving.
