The small ponds are vital for amphibians such as the yellow-bellied toad and the newt. A Switzerland-wide project in collaboration with Pro Natura and Swiss Grid plans to create small habitats for amphibians under high-voltage pylons and thus strengthen the ecological infrastructure for these endangered species.

While our community service group from the canton of Graubünden was actively constructing five amphibian ponds in the communities of Fläsch and Trimmis, television filmed the work and published a short report, which you can watch via this link from minute 10:20.
