Realized:

performed by:

Naturnetz Nordostschweiz

On behalf of Pro Natura Schaffhausen, we are upgrading a cantonal nature reserve in the municipality of Beringen.

The rocky site is home to botanically valuable species such as the Dittany ( Dictamnus albus ), Pasqueflower ( Pulsatilla vulgaris ), Rough Atlant ( Inula hirta ), White Cinquefoil ( Potentilla alba ) and Dyer's Woodruff ( Asperula tinctoria ). In addition, various bat species such as the Greater Mouse-eared Bat, Daubenton's Bat and Whiskered Bat have been identified in the large cave in the rock.

Through our intervention, we are creating more space for the herbaceous vegetation and bringing more light onto the ground and rocks. This will benefit the rare species that are threatened by bush encroachment and that depend on a lot of light and warmth. In addition, various stone and wooden structures have been created for reptiles and insects. The amphibian pond will also be renovated and upgraded next autumn.
