Biological diversity in the Dötra

For a week, we'll work together in this scenic gem, far removed from everyday worries, and experience nature in all its facets. The mosaic landscape between Olivone and the Lukmanier Pass is a true paradise for mountain lovers.

The restoration of pastures creates space where many rare plant species, such as the orchid, sprout from the ground. The alpine location offers wonderful views over the entire Blenio Valley and allows for nights under a sparkling starry sky. Bird whisperers will also find something to enjoy, listening to the whistling of the tree pipit or observing the graceful whinchats.

Outdoor Learning: Education and Teamwork

During their work, the students experience nature with all their senses and become part of biodiversity conservation. The work often requires teamwork and ingenuity from the students. This allows them to learn about their own limitations and possibilities and grow closer together as a class. The maintenance and creation of dry meadows illustrates the positive influence of humans on biodiversity. It provides insight into organic farming based on extensive grazing.
