Flyerspender Thurauen

In many inter-municipal nature reserves, the Canton of Zurich's Nature Conservation Department uses information boards to inform the population about observation opportunities, rules of conduct, special features of the area and so on. In some places, information is also provided using printed flyers. There are several places in the Thurauen near Flaach where these flyers can be picked up. The leaflets are stored in transparent dispenser boxes, which in turn are attached to rustic wooden posts.

General maintenance includes checking the posts occasionally to ensure they are functioning properly and are stable. It was discovered in several places that this was no longer guaranteed. We from the Nature Network Northeast Switzerland team were then given the task of taking care of the matter. We dismantled the rotten posts, replaced them with new ones and added the defective dispenser boxes.

A varied assignment was thus completed, which revealed some of the civil servants’ manual skills.
