Ambroise Marchand

GL member, Head of Environmental Education

Ambroise Marchand is the head of environmental education at the Naturnetz association. He was born and grew up in the beautiful Bernese Jura. After studying forestry engineering at ETH Zurich (Master in Forest Engineering), he deepened his knowledge of forestry sciences at the state forests of Zurich and Bern, in nature conservation in Madagascar, and in botany and gardening at the Zurich Botanical Garden.

Since 2010, he has gained experience in environmental education at organizations such as Naturstation Silberweide, Natur- und Tierpark Goldau, Bärenpark Bern, Zoo Zurich, Bildungswerkstatt Bergwald, Stiftung Reusstal, Pro Natura and WWF Zurich. Since 2020, he has expanded his knowledge in the field of adult education with training (federal professional certificate as a course leader).

His passion is nature photography and he has been working as a freelance photographer since 2012. Ambroise has written two nature guides about the Franches-Montagnes (JU) and the Untersee (CH and DE).

He has been very curious since he was a child. He not only wants to discover nature, but also to meet people while travelling. He has experienced the everyday life of the nomads in Mongolia, learned about the culture of the peoples along the Silk Road and discovered the beautiful nature of the island of Madagascar. Now, as a young father, he is rediscovering the beauty of our world with his son through children's eyes.
